The birth of imagination is no more evident than in the animation of your 3 or 4 year old. The "butterfly" bursts from the cocoon, transformed from a receptive to an expressive learner bubbling with stories of how he sees the world. For the 3 and 4 year old, imagination is everything. Every experience becomes his opportunity for self-discovery. And that is exactly what makes Kindermusik Imagine That! so fascinating.

Encouraging creativity inside your child, Imagine That! incorporates pretend play activities with vocal development, storytelling, listening, movement and literacy aspects in each lesson. In a small group setting, instrument play is introduced to foster fine motor skills as well as familiarity with basic concepts like rhythm, pitch, and timbre. Vocal exploration develops his singing voice, and creative movement strengthens his coordination and repertoire of movements. Listening activities cultivate discrimination skills while peer interaction affirms social skills.

Kindermusik Imagine That! is:

*developmentally appropriate. It is the result of educational research that confirms that preschool age children thrive on participatory, expressive learning.

*process, not performance- based. Children are gently guided toward taking an ownership of learning through activities that allow them to investigate, compare, and find out how and why.

*focused on the development of the whole child. No other activity enhances the development of the "total child" through integrated learning that includes music, movement, pretend play and literature.

*child centered. Children participate in and even guide their own learning. No other activity allows your child to continue for seven consecutive years with the same instructor who nurtures your child's special gifts and talents.

*inclusive of parents. Sharing Time allows parents to join in activities at the end of each class and At Home materials encourage parent and child interaction at home. Imagine That! music and activities are purposefully designed to address and foster development through:

*pretend play. Pretend play enhances language, which promotes conceptualization and in turn ensures repetition, which builds skills.

*social interaction. Groups interactions allows children to develop social skills and friendships.

*language. Children will be able to express their own ideas, be acknowledged and celebrated. Literature activities further enhance language skills as they learn to construct meaning and express thoughts and emotions through storytelling.

*singing. Singing helps with matching pitches, memory and recall, with physical development, creativity and socialization. Children are exposed to a variety of musical styles and use a variety of different voices, instruments and melodies.

*movement. Children expand their movement repertoire beyond running and learn self-control and listening skills.

*playing musical instruments. Children enjoy playing a wide variety of small percussion instruments as they have an increasing ability and interest in using fine motor skills. In Kindermusik Imagine That! the thinker, creator, and musician in your child come together and suddenly the little butterfly has new musical ways to explore the world and to express his discoveries.
