The Kindermusik Faculty

Becky Ray is a licensed Kindermusik educator and has taught Kindermusik here for three years and previously elsewhere.  Becky teaches Village, Our Time, Imagine That and Young Child.  At a very early age, Becky knew that teaching music to children was the career for her.  She earned her undergraduate degree in music from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas and went on to earn a Masters of Education from the University of Houston with an emphasis in music education.  For five years she taught elementary music for Brazosport ISD in Freeport TX and two years at a private school in Lake Jackson, TX. Later in Illinois she taught elementary music. In New Jersey, Becky trained to become a Kindermusik instructor at Westminster Choir College and began teaching all levels of the curriculum.  In December, 2005 she and her husband moved to The Woodlands.  Both Becky and her husband, Rick, have been involved with church music programs wherever they have lived.  Becky has primarily served as church pianist, but also played both synthesizer and percussion in the church's orchestra.  Becky is a firm believer and supporter of the Kindermusik philosophy and enjoys seeing both children and families benefit from their shared experiences with music.

Rena Beadle is a licensed Kindermusik educator and teaches Village, Our Time and Imagine That.  Rena loves children, with five sons of her own.  Born into a family of musicians, and raised in New Orleans, she was exposed to many types of musical genres.  Participation in theatre and choir created an appetite for more education.  She completed a Vocal Music Education degree from Louisiana State University.  Rena and her five sons are currently involved in music ministry at their church.  She has worked with children for years, either in choirs or managing a tutorial service.  One of the adventures her family took part in was an NBC reality show called "Meet Mr. Mom".  They competed against a family with five girls.  It aired August of 2005 and the family is grateful to say they won!  Music has always been a way of life for the Beadle family, and she exudes that same enthusiasm to the children at Kindermusik of The Woodlands.  She firmly believes that the music our children make today will help create society's culture tomorrow.

Tara Edwards is a licensed Kindermusik educator.  Tara was born at Grissom Air Force Base in Peru, Indiana. With her father being in the military, they moved to England when she was 6, living there for 6 years.  Her family then returned to Peru. She now lives in Spring TX with her husband, and a daughter and son, one a Kindermusik student and one a Kindermusik graduate who is now studying piano.  She has been involved in music from a very  young age, with singing, playing piano and clarinet, and musical theater.  She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Butler University in Indianapolis.  After being a stay-at-home mom to two children who loved the Kindermusik program themselves, she was thrilled when the opportunity arose to teach Kindermusik to other children.  Miss Tara teaches Village, Our Time and Imagine That.

Miranda Murphy is a licensed Kindermusik educator. Miranda has been deeply involved iwth music since the age of 4, when she began taking music lessons with a local Yamaha teacher in Baton Rouge, LA.  After finishing the 4-year program, she went on to take private piano lessons from a teacher near her home, and then in high school began studying with professors at Louisiana State University. Miranda entered LSU in 2002 and graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance in 2006. Then she enrolled at The University of Houston's Moore's School of Music. For the three years she was there, she did graduate work in Piano Performance, served as a Teaching Assistant in the Theory department where she taught all 4 semesters of Undergraduate Level Theory and Aural Skills, accompanied several undergraduate musicains, and actively participated in chamber music.  Miranda also taught lessons at Ft. Bend Music Center and The Fay School.  Miranda now teaches piano lessons at Hall's Music Studio and teaches Kindermusik Village, Our Time, Imagine That and Young Child. She wants to share her love of music with each of her students and hopes that she can inspire each of them to make music a part of their everyday life.

Laura Yakunovich is a licensed Kindermusik educator.  Laura is the parent of three beautiful girls, one is a Kindermusik graduate who is now studying piano and the other two are Kindermusik students.  Having observed Kindermusik from the parent's point of view, Laura decided to become a Kindermusik educator herself.  Laura studied voice and brings a fresh perpsective to the Kindermusik classroom.
