Our Kind of Day

 

We will begin each class with the same hello song, "We're a Musical Family", which will give your child(ren) a sense of security, make everyone feel welcome and frame the beginning of the class. Children will enjoy exploring various instruments throughout the semester such as egg shakers to the upbeat, finger-snapping "I Love My Family". We will explore moving our bodies with the steady beat of songs like "Toodala". Pretend to pull or push a child in his "Little Red Wagon" as we move around the room in laundry baskets! We add in a little sign language of I Love You in the favorite "Skinnamarink" as we dance together. Discover all the fun ways you can move a ball to "Keep the Ball A-Rolling" and relaxing and listening together to "The More We Get Together". Each week we will read a story, including the two books included in your home materials, "Bouncing on the Bed" and "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes". Then it's Family Jam time as everyone chooses an instrument to play along with the music, like "Little Sacka Sugar". Everyone enjoys falling down to "Ring Around the Rosey" and going again one more time! All children will enjoy rocking and cuddling together to "Come All You Playmates". We end our class each week with "Sing Through the Week" as you take home your fun, musical experience and sing with your family at home or in the car!
