"Confetti Days"

Inspired by timeless Play Party songs such as Pop! Goes the Weasel, Looby Loo and DeColores, "Confetti Days!" celebrates the joy of being a child!  Children will echo through song and chant, develop self-control of stopping and going, and enjoy the storytelling adventures of Monkey and his circus friends during story time and at home.  Children will enjoy developing their movement skills, playing all kinds of instruments for developing steady beat, singing songs and, art activities that expand upon music and movement concepts.  Your child will begin to develop social skills, extend verbal language skills and build discriminatory listening skills. The activities will help prepare him for preschool in his abilities to listen, follow instructions, self-control, responsibility, language, and social skills such as turn taking.  Dramatic play activities are integrated with music, vocal development, stories, and movement to capture your child's potential to learn and to encourage his cognitive, literacy and musical skills, creativity and individuality.  Making music together is not only fun, but your child will increase his musical aptitude for future music instruction and success in school during this "window of opportunity" time frame in his life!

"Around the World"

Take an imaginary trip--exploring the exotic cultures of Germany, Africa, Mexico, Japan and England.  "Let's take a trip around the world, get ready, let's go!"  Learn how to say hello in the language of each country: Guten Tag! Jambo! Buenos Dias! Konichiwa! Hello!  Play the native instruments with the music of each country: kokiroko, den-den drums, maracas, African drums and more!  Learn the authentic dances, customs and games from each country.   Enjoy making crafts in class.  Pretend to stand on the Alps Mountains in Germany and sing "I Hear a Voice from the Mountain Top".  Make an African face mask and dance a silly dance.  Pretend to be a king and queen in a parade in England.  March through the jungles of Africa as the King of the Jungle, the Lion.  Play an instrument in a musical ensemble to express the words of a Japanese poem, called "Haiku".

Children will develop an awareness of musical elements, listening and social skills.  The children learn while having fun and developing a joy for music.  Your budding musician will not realize how much fun he is having while he is learnig in this pressure-free, developmentally appropriate transition where he can musically succeed before taking formal music instruction.  Your child will experience authentic songs and stories, move to music, play percussion instruments from around the world.  Early music training increases the music aptitude for future music instruction by laying solid foundations and preparing the ear and most important, the attitude of love for music and a willingness to practice a chosen instrument later on.
